Molina Healthcare of South Carolina Reminds Families of Health Coverage Choice During Marketplace Special Open Enrollment Period

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., February 23, 2021 – As the federal health insurance Marketplace launches a special three-month open enrollment period, Molina Healthcare of South Carolina (“Molina”) is reminding individuals and families of their health coverage options. Molina offers Marketplace plans in 33 counties across South Carolina, and also offers Medicaid, Medicare-Medicaid (Duals), and Medicare Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP) coverage throughout the state.

In South Carolina, Molina’s Marketplace footprint spans the following 33 counties: Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Clarendon, Colleton, Darlington, Dillon, Dorchester, Edgefield, Fairfield, Florence, Greenville, Greenwood, Horry, Kershaw, Laurens, Lee, Lexington, Marion, Marlboro, McCormick, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Sumter, Union, and Williamsburg counties.

Molina’s competitively priced Marketplace plans include free preventive care services such as screenings, family planning, and preventive drugs. Additional benefits include easy access to a comprehensive network of doctors and hospitals and free pediatric vision services. Marketplace plans also include telemedicine services that provide 24/7 virtual care access to quality doctors for the same low copay as a primary care visit. Six of eight plan offerings have no deductible requirement on certain services.
